I finally remembered to renew my domain far enough in advance to transfer away from the evil of network solutions and move it to gandi. Not only is it cheaper, but they are a lot more geek friendly. Although I must say, given some of the horror stories I've heard about NSI hassling people by denying domain transfers away from them, it was a very smooth process; from my first email to them to get the auth key for my .org domain to whois being updated with the new info was less than two days.
