I'm losing my geek cred.

January 24, 2005

What I am turning into? I get excited about Nordstrom's half-yearly sale for men then I do about smarthome's half-yearly sale.

All comparisons aside, if you're shopping regularly at Nordstrom, you've definitively lost your geek cred (and your mind, as I'm reasonably certain there's not a single thing there that cannot be purchased elsewhere in this fine city of ours for considerably less).

Nordstroms isn't really that expensive if you compare similar items to other places around town. And for that extra dough, you get some generally inspiring customer service. When I got my suit there a long time ago, the only thing extra I could have asked for was a glass of wine. Two or three people helped me put it together, and they did the alterations/tailoring that day. Pretty cool. I don't get to shop there often (stupid budget), but it's always good fun.

I honestly think the pricing thing is debatable, but as I'm not going to go to the trouble to actually compare, I'll let it slide.
And, as I could really care less about customer service, I guess I'm just not their target market.
