Sysadmin Field Notes

Damnit.

March 10, 2005

So I'm working late, and then Marimba (aka evil peice of shit corporate patch/software management tool) takes over my PC and demands that I have to reboot in 5 minutes. I'm right in the middle of manually merging a crap load of files into the trunk that were left stranded out on the branch, done by someone else on the team. So I have to switch contexts, come out of my flow and save all my work, submit what I've done, mark my progress, etc.

After 10 minutes when the POS finally comes back up, I get started again, and in about 2 minutes it says it has to reboot again. Sigh.

Then I login to bitch about it here, and I've got 55 ping/trackback spams, which is the new thing those aren't protected by the little captchya doohickey, which has otherwise reduced my spam to zero. Since I defiitely don't have the time to deal with that, I'm turning trackback off for a bit.
