From Engadet, and others Apple is announcing "fun new products" next Tuesday.
Lots of speculation about iBooks and such. Maybe, but look @ the invite. Fun to me implies non-major. And the icon is the iCal icon.
So put my guess down as some software updates (including iCal); fun games/widgets/etc. to ship w/ new macs, and possibly lower end stuff, like a new mini or iBook.
Prediction: Intel MacMini with FrontRow and bundled remote.
Woohoo! I nailed it.
And I couldn't have been more wrong. So much for my stab at punditry.
I do think these were rather boring announcements. If Apple wants to stave off disappointment, then they should avoid the mystery/hype for announcements that are boring. Either do it by surprise at some other event, or just launch them on Apple's front page/apple store.
Their launches, while wonderfully executed, could use with some shaking up to keep the same excitement/anticipation level from them.
