So there we are, driving home from the train station Friday night, stopped or nearly stopped at a red light, and out of nowhwere we get rear ended. Never even heard the squeal of brakes. Everyone was fine, but it's probably the most severe impact I've ever felt in a car before (even if it wasn't all that much in the grand scheme of things). The kids were freaked out but fine.
On her car, both airbags deployed, and her front was trashed. Our rear decklid, bumper, and who knows what else is trashed. I'm stunned at how little damage we have in comparison to her. Makes me glad that the kids had kick-ass car seats and that we had a big giant van.
So Saturday was "getting a rental car and new car seats day." Monday will be "taking the car to the shop day."
Here's all the photos, including some of her car.
